‘Square Dance’ is a striking geometric design created with traditional patchwork blocks. My original quilt featured in the photographs was scrappy and made using a range of indigo fabrics from across my Moda collections with my cream texture fabric as the background.

This limited edition kit features a range of blue fabrics from my 'The Blues' collection for Moda as well as cream texture fabric for the background.

Packaged in a cotton Janet Clare tote bag the kit includes:

· Fabrics to piece the quilt top and binding, with five different blue prints from ‘The Blues’ fabric collection and my complimenting cream texture Moda fabric for the background. Moda fabric is 100% cotton, a lovely medium weight, and beautiful to sew with.

· Full colour quilt pattern with detailed instructions and diagrams which guide you through cutting your fabric, piecing the blocks, adding borders and includes notes on preparing the quilt backing, wadding, layering up and binding.

This wonderful design uses traditional patchwork and piecing techniques and whilst having some patchwork experience will make this project easier, the techniques are simple to learn, making it suitable for all experience levels.

The finished quilt measures 54 x 54 inches.

Backing fabric and wadding are NOT included.

The Story

‘Jazz it up a little’

‘The Blues’ have been inspiring musicians and artists like me for well over a century. As I read up a little and listened to the music my sketchbook filled with painted ombres in a myriad of blue tones, crotchets, quavers and musical staves. But perhaps my favourite print is the one inspired by Chiquita, Josephine Baker’s cheetah!
